CONSERVATION EASEMENTS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Through the Land Trust Alliance you can find several land trusts operating locally and statewide in West Virginia that can get you started on protecting your land. Be sure to visit the West Virginia Land Trust which aims to protect land with significant conservation values through the use of conservation easements and real estate acquisitions.

The West Virginia Managed Timberland Tax Incentive Program provides significant tax incentives for forest landowners who practice sustainable forestry on their nonindustrial, privately owned forestland. Also, learn about EQIP in West Virginia.

The West Virginia University Extension Service for Natural Resources provides access to information, upcoming events, and other useful information. With offices in all 55 counties, the Extension provides information and services for forestry, wildlife, and soil and homesite.
